There’s a new Sesame Street special coming soon, apparently, and it’s going to make its world debut at San Diego Comic Con. On July 23rd at 11:30am, there will be a special screening of this new special, followed by a panel with writer/producer Andrew Moriarty, and live-in-the-room-with-you Muppets Elmo and Cookie Monster!
The special has no announced title or release date, but is described thusly: “[This] new entertaining and informative special [stars] your favorite Muppets of Sesame Street, who, with the help of celebrity guests, journey out into the world with a mission to help others and give back to communities.” We’ll be sure to provide further updates as to what this mystery special is.
In addition to the premiere, a couple days earlier on July 20 at 5:30pm, there will be a “Sesame Street Muppets Live!” show, featuring Elmo, Grover, Oscar, the Count, and presumably whoever else Ryan Dillon, Eric Jacobson, and Matt Vogel perform. The event promises to have “hilarious live readings and performances…classic Sesame Street moments, and take part in unexpected improv scenes with special guests.” Sounds not unlike the show they did at the 2019 SDCC, meaning this something you don’t want to miss!
