Labyrinth is one of the great movie-musicals of the 1980s. And now it might be one of the best musical-musicals too.
In a recent interview with Forbes, Brian Henson revealed that a stage version of Labyrinth is in the works. The Labyrinth musical would bring David Bowie’s classic songs to life, and presumably, many of Jim Henson’s creations as well, live on stage.
In the interview, Brian Henson had hope for a run in London’s West End, with a possibility of bringing it to Broadway as well.
Obviously, it’s far too early for any speculation, including thoughts on whether or not the musical will actually see the light of day. Likewise, Brian Henson shed some light on the Labyrinth film sequel, which is still too far in pre-development.
If you just need a little Labyrinth in your life, don’t forget that the film is returning to theaters on April 29, May 1, and May 2!
