Whoever is in charge of coming up with new Muppet merchandise for the online Disney Store has a bizarre idea of what Muppet fans want. The Muppet section of the website has a few bland t-shirts, every DVD we all already own, and a few assorted things that won’t convince anyone to give up their credit card number.
Oh, and then there’s the Kermit the Frog giclee (fine art duplicated with an ink jet printer) seen above, which you can now buy on the Disney Store website for the low low price of $259.
Look, I am willing to spend a lot of money on Muppet merchandise (and Frog knows I have already), but that’s a lot of dosh to drop on what’s essentially stock art put through a Photoshop filter.
It’s also worth noting that this is far from a new complaint for us.
So, I guess this is good news if you have too much money (and hey, if that’s your problem, we’ve got a PayPal link on the sidebar of this income-free website!), but it’s just a big shrug for the rest of us while we wait for Disney to give us something new and cool that actually fits our budget.
