Primetime Emmy Noms for Sesame, Muppets (kinda)

It seems like only yesterday when Sesame Street walked away with a wagonfull of Daytime Emmy Awards, and now they’ve got two more nominations in the later-in-the-day awards ceremony, the Primetime Emmys!

Airing last fall, “Growing Hope Against Hunger” featured Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams Paisley addressing the issue of hunger in the United States with the help of Elmo and his less fortunate friend Lily.

Growing Hope Against Hunger is nominated in the categories, “Outstanding Children’s Nonfiction, Reality, or Reality Competition Program” and “Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming”.

But that’s not all!  The Muppets didn’t get a nomination this year, but the song they sang with Jason Segel on Saturday Night Live, “I Can’t Believe I’m Hosting”, was nominated for “Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics”!  Could this be the year when the Muppets sweep the music award wins??  Anyone know when the Grammys are?
