Waaaaaay back in June 2010 (hey, remember 2010??), we announced that the Muppets would be getting their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because if anyone deserves a star embedded in a chunk of pavement, it’s Kermit the Frog and Company.
Well, we finally got word on when the ceremony is taking place. It’s all going down on March 20 at 11:30am, which just so happens to be the same as the release date for The Muppets on DVD and Blu-Ray! What an unbelievable coincidence!
According to the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s website, speakers at the ceremony will include Disney President Rich Ross, The Jim Henson Company CEO Lisa Henson, and Jason Segel. And call it a hunch, but I bet those rascally Muppets will make an appearance too.
If you’re in the Hollywood area and are thinking about attending, head to the El Capitan Theater at 6834 Hollywood Boulevard to see the Muppets receive their star!
