A few days ago, we told you about the promos for the new web series The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora. We didn’t have an exact date for the premiere of the show, but it looks like that date is Now.
Click here to be whisked away to the show site, with a bunch of episodes – a few five-minute Muppets Kitchen episodes and a few shorter Hasty Tasty Cooking Tips episodes that are more cooking-intensive. So how are they? Well, it still seems weird to give the Muppets a cooking show, but I can’t imagine it working any better than it does here. I mean, Cat Cora is not very funny, and I don’t care about the recipes at all, but several characters show up, and they get to act like themselves, and the longer episodes have at least one nifty non-culinary Muppet moment (A new Bear on Patrol bit! A crazy Bunsen & Beaker movie parody!) to keep things interesting.
As for Angelo, the new Muppet chef… well, I’m still making my mind up about him.
So now that we’ve seen what the Muppets can do with a cooking show, I look forward to their next venture, which I’m guessing will either be about fishing or dentistry.
