In his long career, John Hurt has taken on many titles – Doctor, Professor, Elephant Man – but for Henson fans, his most important has always been Storyteller. This past week, he added another: Sir.

The BBC reports that as part of the Queen’s New Years Honours, Hurt received a knighthood “for his services to drama.” On Jim Henson’s The Storyteller, Hurt used his talents in a very dramatic fashion indeed. His commanding, enthusiastic delivery was a key element of the show’s success. We can’t think of a better way to mark the occasion of Hurt’s knighthood than by watching him conveying the depth of his friendship with a dog. Congratulations, Sir John!
