Since its inception a few years back, Sesame Workshop’s Talk, Listen, Connect program has tackled some pretty tough subject matter in its efforts to help military families deal with difficult issues. Its latest project is When Families Grieve, a special that airs this Wednesday, April 14 at 8:00 PM on PBS (check your local listings).
As the title indicates, the topic at hand is about as serious as you can get: dealing with the death of a parent. In the special, Elmo and his relatives cope with the death of Elmo’s Uncle Jack. The show also features Katie Couric, who appears in a few of the videos Sesame Workshop has posted on YouTube to get the word out.
