RIP Sesame Music Director Mike Renzi

We are saddened to learn that Mike Renzi, former music director and composer for Sesame Street, has passed away at the age of 80.

Renzi worked on Sesame Street for about a decade (seasons 31 to 40), and wrote the music for over 120 songs, including such tunes as:

In addition to composing, Renzi was also a musician and founded the Mike Renzi Trio. He even played piano and rhodes on Jerry Nelson’s Truro Daydreams album. He also served as music director for many big-name artists, including Frank Sinatra, Cleo Laine, Ertha Kitt, Peggy Lee, and many other. He will be missed.
