Record producer Phil Ramone, who has worked with such legendary artists as Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Barbra Streisand, and dozens more, has passed away. The recipient of 14 Grammy Awards also has a few Muppet connections under his belt.
In 1987, Ramone provided music and lyrics for the pilot to Jim Henson’s Puppetman. He later worked as a music consultant on The Jim Henson Hour, and as a music producer on The Muppets at Walt Disney World.
Years later, Phil Ramone received the highest honor anyone could earn: He was interviewed by Pepe the King Prawn. Pepe stopped the legendary producer for a chat on the red carpet of the 2008 Grammy Awards, bringing his entire career around full circle.
