We are saddened to learn that blues guitarist and songwriter B.B. King has passed away.  Although he had an extremely full life including his successful music career, TV and film appearances, and notoriety of being among the best in his field, we remember him for his appearances on Sesame Street.

King first appeared on Sesame Street in the season finale of the very first season, in which he recites the alphabet, and then in season 15 to sing “The Alphabet Blues”.  Sadly, we don’t have footage of these to share.

However, King returned to Sesame Street in season 32 to sing about the letter B (what else?) with his Sesame pals.  That one, you can watch right here:
