You know what’s great? Art. You know what’s even better than art? Muppet fan art. And you know what’s even better than Muppet fan art? A whole exhibit of Muppet fan art! And there’s one happening right now, thanks to Gallery 1988 in Glendale, California, which is hosting an exhibit curated by Luke Flowers called “Raised by Rainbows: Puppet Pals.” This collection of art celebrates the puppet characters that entertained us as children, and of course that includes plenty of works inspired by the creative worlds of Jim Henson. Flowers has assembled an impressive roster of artists, quite a few whose work you might’ve seen on a little website called ToughPigs.com. (That sounds familiar.) And the best part of the whole thing is that all of the pieces are available for purchase! Let’s take a peek at some of the highlights!
“Alph & Ralph, Labyrinth Guards” by Andy Bennett
“Stars Amongst Rainbows, Yellow Variant” by Cameron Garrity (There’s also a variant inspired by a certain tear-jerking scene from Sesame Street Presents: Follow that Bird.)
