A few days ago, we revealed the first of the details about The Jim Henson Company’s new game show, That Puppet Game Show, set to air on the BBC. Of course, there’s more to know than just “it’s happening”, and now we know a whole lot more.
First off, the guys in the image above are Vernon Kay (the human) and Dougie Colon (the puppet, pronounced “cologne”). Vernon won’t be on every week, but Dougie will be hosting the show. He does kinda look like a smarmy game show host, doesn’t he?
In each episode, two celebrities (which include Vernon Kay, Jonathan Ross, Richard Hammond, Jack Dee, Gary Lineker, Katherine Jenkins, Freddie Flintoff, Tess Daly, and more people I’ve never heard of) will go head-to-head to win money for their charities, with more puppet pals running the individual games.
And as we revealed earlier, the show will also feature scripted backstage antics with the puppet characters, which will include a producer named Mancie and a “bullish show boss” named Udders McGhee. It seems cruel to name a male bull “Udders”, doesn’t it?
We still have a few more months to go until we see any footage from the show, so keep an eye on ToughPigs for more news about this bizarre new game show thing! With puppets! And stuff!
