Computer-animated creatures in movies are nice and everything, but there’s just something cool about animatronics. There’s a certain believability in realistic puppet characters that look like they really exist in three dimensions and could bite your head off if you got too close. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge, the upcoming show on SyFy featuring competing creature builders, sounds like it will be a fascinating look at how movie monsters are born.
Entertainment Weekly has gotten their hands on an exclusive promo and some behind-the-scenes footage, which includes Brian Henson pointing out the highlights of three different “Purple People Eaters” that you wouldn’t want to find under your bed.
