Last night, the Muppets appeared for the third year in a row during the ceremony of the Game Awards, which are to video games what rural beauty pageants are to lady pigs. At last year’s ceremony, Bunsen and Beaker presented a peek at the “Untitled Beaker Game,” which is sadly not a thing I can play in reality. This year, however, their announcement was very much a thing that now exists.
The Swedish Chef made a special appearance from his kitchen with some exciting news – he is now a DLC playable character in the video game Overcooked: All You Can Eat! If you’ve never heard of it, the co-op game is the third in the series where you and you friends work together to run a restaurant kitchen. I’ve played the first one and know from experience that it involves a lot of concentration, cooperation, and yelling at your friends for not washing dishes. I also know from experience that the Swedish Chef maybe isn’t the best guy to have around a kitchen, so he might do more harm than good in your quest for victory. At any rate, it’s neat to see a Muppet character included in a game like this.
Check out the video below to see not only the Swedish Chef’s attempted acceptance speech, but also to see him in action in the Overcooked world.
