In 2018, Disney Junior reintroduced a brand new Muppet Babies series, bringing Baby Kermit and his pals into the lives of a whole new generation. After 3 seasons, 71 episodes, and a handful of shorts and interstitials, the series is officially coming to an end.
We have learned that the series has not been canceled by Disney, but instead the showrunners have chosen to end the series on their own terms. And the series will be going out with a bang – the finale will be a half-hour tribute to The Muppet Show as Baby Kermit decides to put on a show with his friends before they all leave for summer vacation.
The finale – airing this Friday, February 18th on Disney Junior – will include cameos from almost every character from the series.
Naturally, we have a lot of questions about Muppet Babies and its impending end. So we’ll be joined by Producer and Baby Kermit performer Matt Danner for an exclusive interview, coming to ToughPigs.com later this week.
Below, you’ll find a preview of the series finale:
It’s been a great ride to get to know the baby versions of the Muppets all over again, and we’re so grateful to the production team for all the work they’ve done. Hopefully this won’t be the end of the nursery!
