The Muppets just came out in theaters, but we’re already ready for the DVD/Blu-ray release, because there’s going to be a lot of stuff we want to watch over and over again, and a lot of shots we want to freeze-frame so we can count all the Muppets. Not to mention the fact that there must be hours and hours of deleted scenes.
So far we haven’t heard any official announcements, but a few items have shown up on Blu-ray.com that offer some intriguing hints. First, there’s the listing for the release of The Muppets, which has a release date of March 24, 2012. That’s exciting enough, but then there’s this: A listing for Disney’s The Muppets Movie Collection, which includes The Muppets, The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz, and A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa. Assuming this is a real thing, it would be the first Blu-ray release for all this stuff… and most of these productions are good! Unfortunately, there’s no release date yet, but stay tuned!
