Hey, remember that time Kermit appeared on The Masked Singer dressed as a snail? That was wild, right? While he got voted out right away, it seems there’s no ill will between the frog and the producers, because he’s been invited back – this time not as a singer, but a special guest.
Season 8 of The Masked Singer begins September 21st on FOX, and among its many theme nights, Entertainment Weekly reports that one show will be “Muppet Night!” I guess this means in addition to appearances by Kermit and Miss Piggy, the masked singers will be performing some Muppet standards like “Rainbow Connection” or maybe even “The Rhyming Song.”
FOX has shared a trailer for the season, with some glimpses at what Muppet Night will have in store:
Here, we see Nick Cannon and the judges appropriately dressed in greens and pinks to invoke Kermit and Piggy. I don’t own a green suit, but I think I have to buy one now.
And hey, it’s the snail! I mean, the frog!
It’s not that easy to see, but we get a brief glimpse of Kermit playing piano as a large robotic figure dances around him. Or as I call it, a typical Saturday night.
Finally, we see Miss Piggy sitting in with the judges, looking as stylish as ever.
There doesn’t appear to be an announced date for when Muppet Night will be airing, but rest assured, we will let you know when the news breaks. We wouldn’t want you to miss a mystery celebrity dressed as a giant oven mitt singing “Can You Picture That” or whatever the heck happens on this kooky show.
