You never know where the Muppets will pop up these days. A fashion show, a Christmas special, a dancing competition TV show… They’re liable to appear anywhere except their own movie or TV production.
Which brings us to this weekend, when they’ll be appearing on Evine, which is described in a press release as “a multiplatform interactive digital commerce company.” I went to Evine.com and discovered that it is, in fact, an online store. It’s amazing how important you can sound when you use a lot of words to describe yourself. From now on, Tough Pigs is not a fan site, we’re a “multiplatform puppet fandom-focused digital collective of nerd persons.”
Anyway, here’s the occasion, directly from said press relese:
This highly anticipated appearance will take place during Evine’s ‘Last Minute Gifts’ event on December 16 & 17 with Kermit and Miss Piggy appearing live on the Evine set to help launch the newest addition to the Invicta Disney collection of watches: unique, exclusive timepieces featuring, of course, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy.
Fancy Muppet watches! That’s cool. I wonder how much they’ll cost. I once got some Muppet watches for free by buying The Muppet Movie and The Great Muppet Caper on VHS, so I figure these will cost about five bucks each.
The press release goes on:
During the event, additional exclusive-to-Evine Muppet timepieces will also debut, including Animal and Fozzie Bear styles. Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will make several appearances live on set, giving exclusive interviews with Evine’s very own Kendy Kloepfer and urging fans to support Team Kermit or Team Piggy during the broadcast as well as on Facebook. Fans can also follow along as Miss Piggy takes over Evine’s Instagram account, sharing her unique behind the scenes access.
It all starts tomorrow, Saturday, December 16 at 11:00 PM Eastern time (past my bedtime!), and then goes on throughout the day on December 17, on various satellite channels and apps. You can “find Evine in your area” by clicking here. And click here for more info!
