American Idol, once the biggest television phenomenon (do doo do do doo) in the world, is ending its 16th season with a bang. No, sorry, not a bang. A frog.
Kermit the Frog will appear on the final American Idol of the year, along with a bunch of nobodies like Katy Perry, Nick Jonas, Lionel Richie, Patti Labelle and more.
This isn’t the first time the Muppets have hung out on American Idol. In 2006, Kermit appeared on the show to help promote the Ford Fusion (“I guess it is easy being green”, he said predictably). In 2007, he did it again (“Aww, I love being green”, he said, thus killing all future references to the classic song). Also in 2007, Miss Piggy appeared during a celebrity montage of “Stayin’ Alive”. Y’all remember those classic moments, right??
The season finale of American Idol will air on Monday, May 21st on ABC.
