RIP Jean Stapleton

StapletonActress Jean Stapleton, best known for her role as All in the Family‘s Edith Bunker, has passed away at the age of 90.  Here in the Muppet fandom world, we remember Jean for appearing in her very own episode of The Muppet Show.

You may recall Jean’s third season episode for her song with Fozzie Bear, her reveal that the Swedish Chef actually speaks “mock-Swedish” (in which she is fluent) and his native language is actually mock-Japanese, and her duet with Crazy Harry, in which he accompanies Jean on the explodaphone.

Jean Stapleton also made a brief appearance in the 1979 special, The Muppets Go Hollywood.

While the rest of the world remembers her for Edith Bunker, we’ll be revisiting her time with the Muppets, like in these highlights from The Muppet Show:
