It looks like Kermit the Frog will be getting the best gift of all for his 60th birthday.  A new Muppet TV series has been greenlit by ABC.

The pilot presentation reportedly received a standing ovation at the network’s upfronts, and now the show, which we believe is still going by “The Muppets”, will be getting a full season order.

The all-ages show (yes, all-ages, not just for adults) will have that mockumentary style, celebrity guests, musical numbers, a healthy dose of nostalgia, and, most importantly, the Muppets.

We’ve also got our first “official” image from the production, which you can see above, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

We will update you once we know more about the series, but for now, it’s time to play the music!  It’s time to light the lights!  It is time to get things started!!!!
