Nearly twelve years ago, Karen Falk took us all on a unique journey through the history of the Muppets with “Imagination Illustrated: The Jim Henson Journal.” Using Jim’s own words and incredible pieces from The Jim Henson Company archives, Falk told the story of his career in a way fans hadn’t enjoyed before. Now, to coincide with the upcoming release of Jim Henson: Idea Man, an updated edition of the book will hit shelves this August.
Boasting a modified cover and title, now going by “Jim Henson’s Imagination Illustrated,” the book will also feature a brand new forward from Idea Man‘s director and producer Ron Howard. Hopefully he’ll share some insights about Jim he learned from making the documentary, and not just recall that he brushed his teeth on Sesame Street that one time. (Not that that isn’t cool.)
You can currently preorder the updated edition on Amazon, Books-A-Million, or Bookshop.org. And if you can’t wait that long, check out a review of the first edition from our own Ryan Roe, or take a trip into The Muppet Mindset archives with Ryan Dosier’s review!
