It’s awards season, and all the best movies of the year are getting a ton of attention with various nominations and accolades. The worst movies of the year are getting a bit of attention as well.
The Jim Henson Company’s The Happytime Murders has received a whopping six nominations at the Razzie Awards. The Razzies, as you may know, represent the worst in film. And while Happytime Murders was (at best) polarizing amongst Muppet fans, it was mostly reviled by audiences and critics. Rotten Tomatoes has the film at 23%, and it is currently ranked at the 101st highest grossing film of 2018. By the numbers alone, it seems that they’ve earned every Razzie nom.

Worst Screen Combo
- Any two actors or puppets (especially in those creepy sex scenes) for Happytime Murders
- Johnny Depp and his fast-fading film career for Sherlock Gnomes
- Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly (trashing two of literature’s most beloved characters) for Holmes & Watson
- Kelly Preston and John Travolta (getting Battlefield Earth-type reviews!) for Gotti
- Donald J. Trump and his self-perpetuating pettiness for Death of a Nation and Fahrenheit 11/9

- Etan Cohen for Holmes & Watson
- Kevin Connolly for Gotti
- James Foley for Fifty Shades Freed
