James Gandolfini, best known for his role as Tony Soprano on The Sopranos, has passed away at the age of 51. While his fans mourn the loss of this talented actor for his dozens of memorable performances, we remember him for his Muppet-related work, as minor as it may be compared to the likes of Tony Soprano.

In 2002, Gandolfini appeared on Sesame Street in a sketch where he helped Zoe to overcome fear. Sadly, the clip isn’t on YouTube, so all we get at the moment is the image above (courtesy of the Muppet Wiki).

UPDATE: The Sesame Street YouTube page uploaded the clip earlier today, which you can view right here:

In 2009, he had the rare opportunity to provide the voice for a character built by The Jim Henson Creature Shop. Gandolfini performed Carol, the lead “Wild Thing” in Where the Wild Things Are. Unfortunately, that’s the end of James Gandolfini’s Muppet resume, but we’re still extremely glad to count him among the celebrities to be connected to our little corner of the world of pop culture.
