Fraggle Rock, once one of HBO’s very first original TV shows, is returning to its roots.
The Jim Henson Company just announced that the entire Fraggle Rock series will be remastered and re-released back onto HBO, as well as their streaming network HBO Go.
First of all, who would’ve guessed that Fraggle Rock might someday call HBO its home again?
Second of all, who knew that Fraggle Rock and Sesame Street would ever air on the same network?? That means HBO is 2/3rds of the way to a Muppet Family Christmas reunion!
I think this is wonderful news, as the Henson Company has struggled a bit in the past to find a home for their old shows, and HBO continues to gain momentum. This can only end in creating new Fraggle fans and reigniting the spark for casual fans.
The report does not state an official start date for the Fraggle Rock episodes, but we expect to see Gorgs on our TVs again in late 2016!
