Kasem

Voice actor and radio/TV personality Casey Kasem has passed away.  While the rest of the world mourns him for his work announcing Top 40 pop songs, as the voice of Scooby-Doo‘s Shaggy, and as Robin on Super Friends, we choose to remember him for his work with the Muppets.

In one of the first seasons of Sesame Street, Kasem provided the voice for a few cartoons, including the one below in which a man discovers that the only word worth knowing that starts with the letter “Q” is “quarter”.

Kasem also reprised his role as the Robin half of the Dynamic Duo in several Sesame Street sketches, including this one in which the Joker gets hit by a car.

Finally, Kasem appeared as himself in the Muppets’ “She Drives Me Crazy” music video from the “Kermit Unpigged” album. Stay tuned to the end where he talk-sings the lyrics in classic Casey Kasem form.
