This just in, from MTV News: Paul Rudd will not be in the new Muppet movie. At least, he doesn’t think he will. Rudd (famous for a few movie roles, but mostly for wearing a giant Earth suit in an Elmo video) was on a long list of celebrities reported to have small roles or cameos in the film, and at one point it was even rumored that he (rather than Michael Cera) would be providing the voice of the new Muppet character Walter, but now he’s told MTV he won’t be involved at all. Click here to read more about it, and to see video of Rudd trying to come up with a funny name for the film’s potential sequel.
And just for the record, here are some more people who, as of this writing, are not slated to appear in the new movie: Jon Hamm, Russell Crowe, Pee-wee Herman, Ann B. Davis, Barbra Streisand, Barbara Bush, the other Barbara Bush, Paul Lynde, Chester A. Arthur, Popeye the Sailor Man, and Ashanti.
