In the last year, the Muppets, Sesame Street, and Fraggle Rock put out some new productions, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences believes they were good enough to possibly win some Emmy awards! Following its creation last year, their productions are now nominated under the “Children’s and Family Emmy” awards, which included some new puppetry-based categories. Boy, it would be embarrassing if the Muppets didn’t make the cut there.

Who will win?! We’ll find out when the awards are, um, awarded on December 10 and 11. I’m very much looking forward to that Eric Jacobson vs. Eric Jacobson battle.
* Also included in the Puppetry Performance category are Muppet performers Haley Jenkins and Frankie Cordero for their work on Donkey Hodie. While ToughPigs doesn’t normally cover Donkey Hodie news, as it isn’t a Muppet, Henson, or Sesame program, we still celebrate the work of these talented folks!
