We first heard about the new reality competition show Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge back in April, and in the last few weeks some new details have emerged. The show will air on Syfy (which is still a stupid name for a network), and it will premiere in 2014.
Also, as reported by Zap2It and others, the show will be hosted by Gigi Edgely, whose name contains as many G’s as there are in a game of Scrabble. Edgely has a history with the Creature Shop, having played Chiana on Farscape (the alien character with skin the color of a silver Sharpie). The judges for the show will be creature effects veteran Beth Hathaway, Kirk Thatcher and Brian Henson.
For those of you wondering: Sorry, it’s too late to sign up to compete in this season of Creature Shop Challenge, but if Henson does an open call for submissions next year, we’ll be sure to let you know about it!
