Sesame Street’s age has finally caught up with the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything, both of which equal 42.
Starting on September 26, Sesame Street will begin their record-breaking 42nd year, and many details about the new season have emerged. Among the most exciting/interesting/bedazzling are:
-The focus of the season is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). There’s no word if “acronyms” will be a lesson or not.
-Murray Monster will star in the new recurring segment, “Murray’s Science Experiments.” And if we’re lucky, Ovejita too!
-New “Super Grover 2.0” and “Abby’s Flying Fairy School” segments have been produced.
-The triumphant return of Rocco, Zoe’s pet rock.
-An episode based around Hispanic Heritage Month titled, “The Latinization of Marco”, in which Gina teaches her adopted son Marco about his roots.
-More spoofs! Iron Chef parody “Cast Iron Cooks”, Glee parody “G” (in which the G Club practices for G-gionals), Elvis Costello’s “Red Shoes” becomes “Ate My Red Two”, The Deadliest Catch parodied as “The Heaviest Catch”, and of course, “Spider-Monster”.
-Like, a billion celebrity cameos. All of these famous faces will be on the new season: Nicole Kidman, Robin Williams, Amy Adams, Naomi Watts, Mark Ruffalo, Liev Schreiber, Mila Kunis, Sofia Vergara, Emma Stone, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, James Marsden, Michelle Monaghan, Jason Schwartzman, Jerry O’Connell, Juanes, Elvis Costello, Bruno Mars, Gustavo Dudamel, Jay Sean, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, George Lopez, Conan O’Brien, Drew Brees, The Harlem Globetrotters, Amar’e Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, Johnny Galecki, John Krasinski, Joel McHale, Ken Jeong, Adam Rodriguez, Rico Rodriguez, Sutton Foster, Maria Menounos, and Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
