For the past 67 years (!), MAD Magazine has been satirizing… well, everything. And now, we’ve learned that their legacy is coming to an end, as MAD will be ceasing all new publication.
This fall, MAD Magazine will only contain pre-existing material, thus ending their history of topical parodies. Of course, where there are parodies, there are also Muppets.
MAD has included Muppet references in dozens of their spoofs. You can find a list on Muppet Wiki.
Thanks to MAD, the Muppets have continued to exist in the spotlight, even in unofficial sources. Their contribution to the extended world of the Muppets will be missed.
