Picture this: you’re a college sophomore who has to write a term paper on The Muppet Movie. While it may sound fun, like any piece of homework, you’ve procrastinated on it by chatting with friends in the dining hall or playing pool in the arcade. But oh uh, it’s Thursday and your paper is due in one hour! You can’t possibly watch a 97 movie in that time! If only there was some kind of condensed, simplistic way to get the gist of the story in a quick fashion. If only, indeed…
…oh wait! There is! Or at least, there will be! Coming soon from Running Press Kids it’s The Muppet Movie: The Official Picture Book! The 32 page book will retell the story of the 1979 classic, but now it’ll be a big flat rectangle filled with cute illustrations by César Samaniego. Be on the look out for it when it hits retailers on September 16, 2025. And also look out for blue turkeys flying through the sky with balloons.
I certainly hope it sells well enough that we get further re-imaginings of the other films. Or maybe it gets so popular, they’ll try to make a movie out of it! That would be something!
