Since 2010, Walt Disney World has been home to the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend, with different races themed around different characters with a culinary bent. It took them many years, but at long last, they’re finally saying “on your børk” and letting the Swedish Chef host a race.
The Muppets’ cuisiner-in-residence will host the Disney Wine & Dine 5K, a 3.1-mile course around the resort. There’s no word if the chef himself will make an appearance, but the event’s organizer, runDisney, has said there’ll be “an array of Disney character sightings and entertainment throughout the race.” Of course, there’ll be finisher medals, and because it’s a Disney event, more merchandise than you can shake a wooden spoon at!
The 5K will kick off at 5 AM ET on November 1, 2024 (which means it’s a perfect way to burn off that sugar rush from all your Halloween candy). Registration opens for Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members on March 5, and to the general public on March 12, which you can do at this link!
