The Muppets have somehow become inexplicably synonymous with The Game Awards for several years now, which seems strange, but it’s the reality we live in. In the past, the likes of Pepe, Animal, Gonzo, Bunsen, Beaker, a goose, and the Swedish Chef have made live (or pre-recorded) appearances at the annual ceremony. Gee whiz, that’s basically every character! Surely there are none left besides, um, Doglion.
What? I’m wrong? There’s two others getting a shot? Oh, right – Statler and Waldorf! I always forget their names. I could have sworn they were called “Heckle and Jeckle.” Anyway, it’s been officially announced that our favorite box-dwelling critics will be this year’s Muppet representation at the ceremony, which will be livestreamed on Thursday, December 12. I fully expect many jokes about them not knowing that video games are because they’re so dang old! Older than most babies!
