LifetimewinThis is the one annual newsbit we get to post that is at the same time exciting and completely predictable. Sesame Street has once again managed to completely take over the Daytime Emmys. This time, with a whopping 16 nominations!

Among the most notable of the below nominations is the “Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series” category, which is completely comprised of Sesame Street puppeteers: Kevin Clash, Caroll Spinney, Leslie Cararra-Rudolph, and Eric Jacobson (strangely enough, Jacobson is nominated for “Grover and Iron Monster”… I guess they’re taking that “secret identity” thing pretty far). Also exciting (and, once again, predictable) is Sesame’s nomination for Outstanding Pre-School Children’s Series. Because it is the best. Of anything.

Muppet/Sesame/Henson-related shows like Dinosaur Train, The Electric Company, and Sid the Science Kid also got some nominations! Check out the whole list right here.

Sesame’s complete list of nominations is as follows:

Outstanding Pre-School Children’s Series

Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series:
*Kevin Clash as Elmo
*Caroll Spinney as Oscar the Grouch
*Leslie Cararra-Rudolph as Abby Cadabby
*Eric Jacobson as Grover and Iron Monster

Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design

Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design/Styling

Outstanding Directing in a Children’s Series

Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing – Live Action and Animation

Congrats to everyone at Sesame Workshop for your nominations! If I wasn’t an illegal alien, I’d vote for you!74562568BM029_34th_Annual_D
