Miss Piggy Races Into Disney Speedstorm

A few months ago, we reported that Kermit the Frog had become a playable racer in Disney’s Speedstorm racing game, the only Muppet character at the time (obviously, Dr. Finkelstein from Nightmare Before Christmas was a higher priority than the guy who has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame). But finally, he has a fellow Muppet to exchange insurance information with – Miss Piggy!

That’s right! Miss Piggy has now joined the game in the newest season. Her unique power move is “Spotlight Hog.” When activated, a spotlight appears over her; if you can keep her in the light long enough, you get a big ol’ speed boost and leave the cast of Oliver & Company in the dust. Check her out in action!

As you can tell, her outfit is also in-joke branded. Her racing number is 74, referring to 1974, the year she made her screen debut on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. She also wears the same “Mooney & Son” patch that Kermit has. A missed oppertunity for a nod to “Piggy Water,” but we’ll let it slide.

Can’t play the game? Well, I suppose the next best thing is listening to nearly 13 minutes of voice clips that Eric Jacobson recorded just for the game! It’s almost like being there!
