PeterfalkJust one look at Peter Falk and you know his whole story.

Veteran actor Peter Falk passed away this week at the age of 83. Falk was best known for his role as Columbo (which was parodied on Sesame Street with “Colambo“), as well as his memorable roles in The Princess Bride and It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World.

Falk is best known to us Muppet fans as the grifter in The Great Muppet Caper who interrupts the story to take a guess as to why Kermit is so distraught sitting on a park bench, cradling a glass slipper. Falk also appeared as himself in The Muppets Go Hollywood.

Peter Falk gave us one of the most memorable celebrity scenes in The Great Muppet Caper, and for that we’ll remember him fondly for the mark he left on Muppet history.
