There are still 118 interminable days left until The Muppets comes to a theater near you, but Collider has posted a first look at some new promotional materials to keep our Muppet fan glands salivating until November 23rd. There’s a “standee,” which is one of those big cardboard-y things you see in the lobby and stare at as you’re waiting for your friend to come out of the bathroom. Behold your new desktop wallpaper (and click to make it bigger):
I can’t wait to see it in real life in my neighborhood theater. How big do you suppose that sucker is? A few things stand out: Miss Poogy! The prominence of 80s Robot! Muppet cupcakes! And… Hey, who are these people?
I hope they play a crucial role in the plot and become our new favorite Muppet characters forever.
And then there’s the new poster, which Collider is referring to as the “final” poster, which I suppose means we won’t be getting any more teasers:
Sure, there’s a bit of a PhotoShoppy, cut-and-pasty feel to both pieces — you can tell these Muppets weren’t posed in the same room as Jason Segel and Amy Adams. But that can’t stop our excitement and anticipation and jumping-up-and-down as we wait for this movie to come out! Muppet domination, indeed.
