Okay, Muppet fans, we can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
It’s been made official that the Muppets will indeed star in a series on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+. Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo, Rowlf, Animal, and more will star in “Muppets Now,” a new unscripted shorts series coming in 2020. We don’t know much more, other than that there will be guest stars (begin your fantasy casting now!), and that it is definitely happening. And after all this uncertainty, I’m just glad that we’re getting something. Having been lucky enough to see Muppets performed live, I know that the Muppet performers are excellent improvisers, and that we should be in for a lot of fun.
And Kermit himself helped to deliver the news on Twitter:
Coming exclusively to #DisneyPlus in 2020, @TheMuppets proudly present MUPPETS NOW, a new short-form unscripted series! I’d love to tell you more, but Joe The Legal Weasel is right behind me. Gulp! pic.twitter.com/UCXdaopQJR

So let the speculation give way to anticipation, as we get ready for some celebration and Muppetation on Disney+!
