A couple weeks ago, we shared with you the wild world of Muppet enamel pins that could be found on Etsy. And apparently that was something you all enjoyed – I’ve been hearing stories about a lot of you who immediately went ahead and bought some for yourself. You hear that, Disney?? Muppet fans want Muppet stuff!
Continuing the idea of tiny Muppets attached to sharp objects, we found some more Muppet merch that might tickle your fancy – earrings! Yet another category of merchandise left untouched by the franchises we love. So why not throw a few bucks to some fellow Muppet fans on Etsy who just want to see the Henson love out there in the world (and on people’s ears)?
This was the item that inspired this entire article. It almost makes me wish I had pierced ears, because this is absolutely brilliant.
Unsurprisingly, a popular earring duo is Kermit and Miss Piggy. And I’m sure Kermit would be pleased to have an entire human head’s worth of space between the two.
The other OTP we think of are Bert and Ernie. Just think: You could have a banana in one ear and Ernie in the other!
The Swedish Chef is cooking up something punny! Let’s see… an ear of corn? Onion (ear)rings? Pierced potatoes? Okay, I’m done.
Ever want to buy a pair of earrings that would silently judge people on your behalf? Well, good news.
It’s a shame humans weren’t born with a third ear for Mahna Mahna. I guess you’d have to get your nose pierced or something?
Statler and Waldorf would look great as earrings, but they’d be more fitting as ear plugs.
Ditto for Animal – that dude is loud.
I appreciate that Rowlf’s earrings look fuzzy. Also, if he wore earrings, they’d hang a lot lower than you’d expect.
I gotta admit, it’s just weird seeing Sesame Street characters attached to pointy bits of metal.
Something something something none of my business.
Honestly, I’m just impressed that someone thought to make earrings of Zoot. Perfect for the sax player or the insomniac in your life.
Finally, a way to show the world how metal Big Bird really is.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a piece of merchandise like this that depicts Cookie Monster in the act of devouring cookies. Impressive!
Also, Cookie Monster as a macaroon! Adorable!
Talk about piercing ears… imagine if earrings could make noise?
Aw, these tiny Sesame figures are adorable. They really should make Twiddlebug earrings in this size.
People sure do love that Worm! And now you can buy a pair for the missus!
How neat are these minimalist Kermit earrings? It makes me want to try to bend a paperclip into this shape, fail miserably, and then buy the originals online and just tell people I made them myself.
That’s it for now! Happy shopping!
