Miss Piggy’s Fashionable Night Out

I’ve read this announcement five times, and I’m still only about 75% sure I understand it, but it sounds exciting.

Apparently, Opening Ceremony is a clothing line — actually, their website says they’re a “multifaceted retail environment comprised of shops, showroom, and private label collection that establishes a new, international creative forum,” but I think that means they have a clothing line.  And on September 8, they’re holding an event at New York City’s Ace Hotel called “el mercado de carnaval de Opening Ceremony,” as part of something called Fashion’s Night Out.  Using my formidable Google-searching skills, I’ve deduced that Fashion’s Night Out is an annual international how-de-doo in which trendy stores are open late so trendy people can purchase trendy things.

Anyway, Opening Ceremony’s page for the event says it will include “an appearance by Miss Piggy to introduce a very special Muppets x OC collection in time for Walt Disney Pictures’ The Muppets (in theaters this November!)”  So apparently Opening Ceremony will be selling some kind of Muppet-related or Muppet inspired-clothing.  Unless the whole thing is just a comedy bit, and Piggy is showing up to introduce some funny, made-up clothes.  Hey, you know what they should sell?  Green fuzzy flipper slippers!

Stay tuned for further details… because this story couldn’t possibly get any less detailed.
