Here’s something to make us all feel old: Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards has been airing for 28 years. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the executives working on the annual awards show grew up on it, and are now completely obsolete.
One thing that’s not obsolete: The Muppets has been nominated for a Kids Choice Award! They’re up for “Favorite Family TV Show” against Agents of SHIELD, Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, Big Bang Theory, and The Flash.
This is apparently a different category from “Favorite TV Show”, because Nickelodeon viewers are under the delusion that their favorite shows are not “family” shows.
Blake Shelton will host the Kids Choice Awards, airing on March 12th on Nickelodeon. Good luck to the Muppets!
