I didn’t know Jim Henson personally. Most Muppet fans didn’t.
Sometimes we like to say, “Oh, Jim Henson would have loved this!” or “Ugh, Jim Henson would have HATED this.” And sometimes those assertions are informed by the many articles and books we’ve read, the anecdotes we’ve heard from his colleagues, and the interviews we’ve seen with the man himself.
But we’re still just guessing. We can’t really say with 100% confidence that Jim Henson would have liked or disliked any given thing. I know this. I understand this. But in this case? I can’t help it. I’m going to do it anyway. Here I go:
Jim Henson would have loved this cheesecake.
I mean, seriously. This cheesecake is GOOD. It’s light, it’s sweet. It’s been chilling since it was prepared so it’s the perfect temperature. This is some delicious cheesecake.
I could make some educated guesses on how Jim Henson would have felt about any number of political issues, new productions featuring his characters, or business decisions made by the organizations he worked with. And I might be right!
This cheesecake, though? I have no doubt that Jim Henson would have approved of it. He probably would have asked for another slice. Or two slices!
There’s whipped cream and a strawberry on this thing. I dare you to start an argument with me in the Facebook comments over whether or not Jim would have appreciated the whipped cream and the strawberry.
Yeah. If there’s one thing all Muppet fans can agree on, it’s the fact that Jim would have been totally into this cheesecake.
