Part 1 – Part 2
James Hance is one of those artists who you’ll stumble upon while searching for Muppets or Goonies or Star Wars on DeviantArt.com, and you find yourself floored by the talent, humor, and nostalgia in every picture. And then you find him again on a few blogs, maybe a t-shirt or a poster, and eventually everyone’s talking about this Hance guy and you can say “I knew who he was before all of you suckers!” Well, the Hance revolution starts here.
Well, not right here. The real revolution starts in Jacksonville, Florida on July 24. But don’t take my word for it, here’s James to tell you all about the show:
The show (“Saturday Morning Glory – Doodles From The Naughty Step”) takes place this Saturday, July 24th at the Draper Studio & Gallery, 1508 King Street Jacksonville, FL from 5pm-10pm. It’s a childhood and nostalgia based show, plenty of pop culture hybrids, etc. I’m a huge Henson fan, so of course you can expect Bert & Ernie, Cookie Monster, Fraggles & all manner of goofy crossovers. Original paintings and signed prints will be available on the night. The mighty First Coast Ghostbusters and the Florida Garrison of the 501st Stormtroopers will also be making an appearance 🙂
So if you’re in the Jacksonville area this Saturday, be sure to stop by and patronize the arts!
We’re proud to present some beautiful and brilliant Muppet art from James Hance in two parts. One right here (don’t look down!) and one next week after the debut of his show, featuring some never-before-seen artwork!
And remember, give the images a click to see them in their full glory!
