Watch Henson Puppets on “Celebrity Apprentice”

Last night’s second performance of Henson Alternative’s Stuffed and Unstrung in New York City included a live screening of Celebrity Apprentice on NBC.  Why would a Henson puppet improv show make everyone sit down and watch a Donald Trump reality program?  Because this episode was all about the “celebrity” contestants learning to become Henson puppeteers, that’s why.

Two teams of “celebrities” were instructed in puppet building, puppet performance, and improv comedy by Stuffed and Unstrung cast members. Then they put on a show for an audience which included Unstrung‘s Patrick Bristow and Brian Henson, who judged each team based on a few important criteria.  The contestants included Muppets Tonight guest stars Arsenio Hall and Penn Jillette, although they never make any reference to having worked with Brian before. Sadly, George Takei had already been “fired” from the show, so he’s nowhere to be seen.

Anyway, the whole thing is on Hulu, so take a look:

You know, I watched that whole show and I’m still not sure why Teresa Giudice is a celebrity.  But hey, puppets!
