Time Piece, Jim Henson’s experimental and Academy Award-nominated short film from 1965, has just been added to Kanopy, a streaming site you can access through your local library or school (though not all libraries and schools are connected to it, so you’ll have to check with yours first).
In addition to Time Piece, the Jim Henson Company has recently licensed other Henson-related programming to the service as well, including the documentary Henson’s Place, all six of Jim Henson’s World of Puppetry specials, the 2005 film MirrorMask, and select episodes from various other Henson shows, including The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, Pajanimals, The Animal Show with Stinky and Jake, Construction Site, The Hoobs, and Sid the Science Kid.
The site also houses episodes from Sesame Street (seasons 39 and 40), the PBS documentary In Their Own Words: Jim Henson, and the documentary No Small Matter, which features Cookie Monster singing “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”
