It seems like just a couple of days ago we were reporting on the title of Ron Howard’s upcoming Jim Henson documentary or the tie-in reissuing of Karen Falk’s Imagination Illustrated book. Well, guess what? We’ve got even MORE news to bring you about Jim Henson: Idea Man!
First off, as the headline suggests, we’ve got a release date! You’ll be able to stream the new documentary on May 31, 2024 on Disney+. Hey, that’s practically tomorrow! Certainly much less of a wait than for the next solar eclipse!
Next, Vanity Fair (which broke the news) has an article about the upcoming film, interviewing director Ron Howard, and Lisa Henson. It also shows us some of the first visuals from the film, which include interviews with Muppet Show guest star Rita Moreno, and Labyrinth star Jennifer Connelly.
