March is Women’s History Month! You’ll be seeing more about that on this here website soon, but this weekend, the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta is commemorating the month in a big way, with a panel discussion called “The Women of the Muppets.” Jim Henson Company archivist Karen Falk is moderating, with guests Sonia Manzano, Bonnie Erickson, and Fran Brill!

As the event website says, these are “women who made groundbreaking contributions to the work of the Jim Henson Company.” And this is a cool lineup, because they’ve all made very important, but very different, contributions to the Muppet universe, from co-starring to writing to puppet-building to performing to preserving the history of the characters. So if you’re anywhere near Atlanta, you’ll want to be there, this Saturday, March 3 at 7:00 PM. You can read more and buy tickets here. Also, Bonnie Erickson did a nifty interview with Atlanta’s ArtsATL which you can read here.
