Actress Barbara Billingsley, best known to Muppet fans as the voice of the bestockinged Nanny on Muppet Babies passed away at the age of 94.

BillingsleyAlthough we were all-too-familiar with those green and white striped socks, non Muppet fanatics would remember Barbara as June Cleaver on Leave it to Beaver and as the jive-talking lady in the movie Airplane. And if you’re not familiar with the jive-talking lady from Airplane, then you need to get your Netflix on right now.

We’ll all miss that distinctive voice of adult supervision we grew to love from Muppet Babies, and we’ll think of her every time we need someone to bring us back to reality after an afternoon with our imaginations in the clouds.nanny
